When I got the opportunity to work full time in a field that I've been trying to break into, I hopped at the chance. After a lot of thought, Mark and I decided that it would be his turn to work part-a time, spend some magical bonding time with the kiddo, take care of the household duties, and really figure out what he wanted to do. When we had Makai, we weren't able to both pursue our dreams and start from the bottom - we had too many bills and expenses to worry about. So mark made the sacrifice and worked in Retail Management for 3 years to support us. It wasn't what he wanted to do with his life, but it was something that needed to happen for the family.
During his last year of retail, Mark realized that what he really wanted was to be his own boss - a small business owner. Now what business you ask? Perhaps that one can wait for another entry. And I know, small businesses are risky, but I totally believe in him and his vision.
